I aspire to gain the ability to be in the shoes of all minds from a sympathetic understanding. My inspiration for this aspiration came from a public speaking and speed reading courses I took under an instructor named Venkata Iyer, who was a business consultant who taught these two courses at the IndoAmerican Friendship society in Mumbai in the eighties. I would hang out with him after class as he was brimming with ideas and he shared the source of his ideas, as regards to how to think. He recommended I read all the works by Mortimer Adler, who wrote the book, how to read a book. Yes it is the same maverick faculty after whom the Planetarium in Chicago is named after.
